When Is the Right Time for a Mommy Makeover?

What is a Mommy Makeover?
A Mommy Makeover typically combines surgeries. Some of the most common ones that I perform are:- Breast Augmentation, Reduction, Breast Implant, Breast Lift
- Liposuction & Tummy Tuck (mini or full)
- Brazilian Butt Lift
- Labiaplasty
Your Body Needs Time to Heal

Your Body is Still Changing
The breasts are still evolving post-pregnancy. They will continue to change until the breastfeeding stops. A general rule of thumb for this surgery is to wait 3 to 6 months after you’ve finished breastfeeding, and if you’re not breastfeeding, 3 to 6 months after delivery. Another example is the Tummy Tuck. It’s best to wait until you’re at your normal weight again, and the uterus has shrunk back to normal. I also want to mention labiaplasty. As you may or may not know, giving birth can cause your labia – the inner lips of the vulva – to stretch, even tear. Labiaplasty surgery reshapes that area. My recommendation is six months after giving birth.Cosmetic Surgeries Require Anesthesia
Something else to keep in mind. All of the Mommy Makeover surgeries require anesthesia. That’s not recommended if you’re still breastfeeding. You Might Want More Children
If you’re planning to have more children, you should wait until after you’ve done that before getting a Mommy Makeover.Let’s Talk About Your Mommy Makeover
As you can see, much thought has to go into your decision about when to get a Mommy Makeover. Of course, the wait time will depend on the surgeries you choose. We can discuss my recommended wait times when you come in for your consultation. The average amount of time most women wait is at least one year after childbirth. To learn more about this procedure, visit the Mommy Makeover section of my website and read our related blog posts. Call 301-656-6398 today and make an appointment for a consultation. I have three locations conveniently located near you: two in Maryland, and a location in Virginia.
