Adam G. Tattlebaum M.D.

Breast Surgeon Washington, D.C.

There are various breast surgeries that can be undertaken to achieve different goals including breast enhancement, reduction or lift. Dr. Tattelbaum is a double Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon who has vast experience in performing a wide range of cosmetic procedures including a variety of breast surgeries. Dr. Tattelbaum understands that each patient has unique needs and believes it is important to place the patient at the center of his practice and only recommend the procedure he truly believes can benefit them.

Dr. Tattelbaum’s breast consultations tend to last around an hour and will include an evaluation of your health and starting situation. This will include your medical history and any current medications you are taking to ensure your suitability for the procedure. All aspects of the surgery will be discussed during your consultation including the surgical technique, the recovery period and the potential risks. All patients are advised to bring a list of questions with them to their consultation to make sure all their queries are addressed. Additionally, Dr. Tattelbaum recommends that his breast augmentation patients bring a second pair of eyes to the consultation, and different blouses or shirts so you can see yourself in a variety of clothing when viewing the various breast implant sizes and options available.

Breast Augmentation

Breast implant surgery can be performed to enhance a patient’s breast size to their desired extent. The procedure is highly customizable as there are a variety of implant materials, shapes and sizes that can be selected to ensure your individual surgical goals are achieved.

Breast Lift

Many patients feel insecure over the degree to which their breasts have sagged over time, or as a result of pregnancy, or significant weight loss. A breast lift procedure removes excess skin and breast tissue to lift the position of the breasts and increase their firmness to restore a perkier appearance.

Breast Reduction

Patients who have large breasts can experience various health issues in addition to having aesthetic concerns. Some patients experience chronic pain in their back, shoulders or neck that is exacerbated by their breast size, while other patients struggle to exercise or wear specific clothing due to their size. A breast reduction procedure is designed to remove breast tissue to reduce the size of a patient’s breasts to their desired result.

Mommy Makeover

A mommy makeover procedure tends to always include a breast procedure and a body procedure such as tummy tuck surgery. The aim of the surgery is to help restore a patient’s body after pregnancy has caused alterations to their appearance. The breast surgery can include breast augmentation, breast lift or breast reduction depending on what the patient’s specific concerns are. In some cases, patients choose to combine two of these procedures as they desire a breast lift but also have concerns regarding their breast volume.

A Word From The Doctor

Welcome to my new and updated website. I hope you find it not only better than my old one, but different from the many others you may be looking at.

As a Maryland plastic surgeon I worry that there is not only too much plastic surgery information on the internet to sort through, but that much of it is more hype than substance. I hope you will consider this new site a teaching tool. I have put it together in an effort to answer the most common things my patients want to know.

I hope as you read this site, you will have a sense of how I think cosmetically and how I have approached my patients. By no means is my way the only, but the thinking that I have used and honed over the past 18 years has served me well. I hope it will be of benefit to you.

Each patients results will be different depending upon their goals and starting situation, but I try to present here concepts that will be helpful in considering what is right for you.
