Facial Rejuvenation for the Holiday Season

Facial rejuvenation

The leaves are changing colors which means the holiday season is rapidly approaching. For most of us, our calendars fill up with social gatherings around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. If you feel you never have enough time to look your best, now is the time to start thinking about ways to look radiant in your holiday photos. One way is treating yourself to a pre-holiday facial rejuvenation in the form of Botox, Dysport, or Juvederm product. You still have plenty of time to get under eye fillers and other procedures before the start of the holiday season.

Facial Rejuvenation Methods

Facial injectible DermatologistBotox®

If you want to smooth away frown lines, get rid of the lines between your eyebrows, or soften your crow’s feet before this year’s parties, Botox may be the answer. Botox works by blocking specific chemical signals from your nerves that cause your facial muscles to contract.

Timing is crucial when it comes to using Botox. The results from the injection will last for about three to four months. However, it may take a while for the results to fully appear. If you’re considering Botox in preparation for a major holiday party, such as a New Year’s Eve bash, you’ll

want to schedule your treatment about two weeks in advance. Proper planning will give you enough time for the Botox to work and will provide you with enough time for any potential side effects, such as bruising or swelling, to fade away.

Botox and Dysport top the list of most popular procedures around the holidays. Like Botox, Dysport can give a subtle lift to sagging and tired-looking skin, creating a lighter and brighter

eye area. Both Botox and Dysport are part of a class of drug called neurotoxins. They work by temporarily relaxing the muscles in the face that cause dynamic wrinkles for a subtly refreshed appearance that can improve your entire look.

The main difference between Botox and Dysport is in their chemical composition. Dysport is diluted differently than Botox, but the efficacy is similar. In the end, it comes down to whichever you prefer.

Facial rejuvenationJuvederm™

If you want to turn back time for the holidays, Juvederm products can also help. It is similar to Botox and Dysport in that it is injected into your face. They differ in that Juvederm is used to volumize and fill in the hollows on your face.  Used in conjunction with Botox or Dysport, many patients see optimal results that can last for several months. Juvederm uses tiny injection needles and contains a local anesthetic, so the injection is more comfortable. All of this combines for shorter recovery times, which gets you ready for your holiday close-up. There are several types of Juvederm products designed for different uses. We commonly use:

  • Juvederm Ultra – This is the original Juvederm formula and is ideal for treating moderate lines and wrinkles. It works as a great volumizer for many different areas including the lips.
  • Juvederm Voluma – This is a hyaluronic acid (HA) based dermal filler used to fill the volume in cheeks.
  • Juvederm Volbella – An HA gel-based filler that is softer and lighter. It is used to smooth more superficial areas, such as the fine lines around the mouth.

Holiday Kissable Lips

The holiday season means different things to different people, but for many, it means kissing under the mistletoe. If you want full, sexy, plump and kissable lips, lip augmentation can help add volume to thin lips. Our office uses Juvederm to plump your lips. If you plan to attend various holiday events and parties this season, facial rejuvenation procedures such as face lift surgery can help you look and feel your best. Don’t delay because some of the procedures require a few weeks to see the ideal results. If you have questions about which filler may work best, contact Dr. Tattelbaum online or call the office at 301-656-6398 to get started.
